The “Old Euro Cut” known as the European cut was the most important diamond shape used in the Art Deco Era. The “Miner Cut” or Old Mine Cut was used in the Victorian and Edwardian Eras. They used techniques that are no longer common today. Cutting the diamonds by hand gave them dimensions and shapes typically for that time. Although the old cut diamonds often have less shine and are not as brilliant, they are loved for their romantic appeal and warm glow.
